How to Get Involved

The most important thing you can do is participate in scouting with your cub scout! Work with your child both in the den meetings, and join the pack in activities outside of the den meetings. From time to time the den leaders will need your help.

If you're interested in a more active role, the pack has plenty of opportunities. You can lead an event such as our Blue and Gold banquet or popcorn fundraising. You can also take a leadership role, either at the den level or the pack level. BSA provides training materials, as well as courses that you can take. Just speak to any of the uniformed leaders to learn ways that you can help.

Pack 495 is an all-volunteer organization. You can help the pack go!

Uniform

Uniforms help cub scouts to feel part of the pack, and are a source of pride. The "class A" uniforms described here are required at public scouting events and pack meetings. We also wear them during Pack meetings.

You can buy uniforms at the Scout Shop in Raleigh. That would allow you to check the fit of the clothes.

Our Charter Organization

Pack 495's charter organization is American Legion Post 416. Besides providing space for us to meet on a weekly basis, the American Legion serves as the nonprofit financial entity for tax purposes. The pack also collaborates with the American Legion on events.

Pack 495 is grateful for the support that The American Legion Post 416 has provided.
